On behalf of Muslima.com, we would like to apologise to all of you who may have had a negative experience on the site.

Unfortunately, it is extremely hard for us to verify the real identity or intentions of the members as most dating sites do not require any form of formal identification to register and most members use their private email address to communicate with members. It is very sad that a small minority of dishonest people will make such a negative impression of our site, as the vast majority of the members registered with us are honest.

We do our best to remove these people from our site, deleting any profiles showing dubious photos or information, as soon as we see them, however we also rely on our valued members who kindly report to us any suspect or fake profiles they find on our site.

It is a condition of membership that all people truthfully complete their profile information and the vast majority of people do abide by this however as you can appreciate, it is impossible for us or any other internet based dating site to verify the identity of the people who use its service. However, our company takes extensive measures to prevent non genuine profiles and prevent fraudulent behavior on our sites. These measures include:

* Deleting any profiles believed to be non-genuine.

* Provide a “report abuse” feedback form for members to provide information about members who ask for money or profiles they are concerned about.

* Provide extensive information regarding how to avoid being scammed in multiple locations on the website, including the member mail system and profile pages.

* Use third party, world-class fraud prevention technology

* Have a dedicated fraud prevention team

If you have encountered a scammer on Muslima.com we would really appreciate it if you could report to us any profiles (with their membership number and any relevant evidence) that you believe are not genuine so we can immediately investigate the situation and take appropriate action.

I believe that there are legitimate members on Muslima.com (I am/was one) but in my opinion the site attempts to con them into upgrading their membership to Gold or Platinum using fake contacts.

I joined muslima.com and the very same day an attractive 28-year old Standard Member Sayra from France sent an interest. I responded with a mail message and then determined that being a Standard member myself, Sayra would not be able to read my email. However, just a few hours later, unexpectedly there was a new message from Sayra and her membership had been upgraded to Platinum. Interesting enough, however, since I am on another online dating site (and despite being quite the catch ), I am quite aware that things don't move quite that fast! So, I chose to do nothing and one week later I checked and Sayra's profile has been switched off. Another member yasmina from Edmonton, Canada then expressed interest and her profile became hidden shortly after. I received another contact from Aludra from France a Standard member whose membership status has now changed to Platinum (why wouldn't someone just upgrade to Gold, or not already be a Gold member?). Finally, I received another interest message from Valiya from the UK all within the span of 7 days.

The reason for concern is also that three of the profiles were of women more than ten years younger than me, outside my country of interest and didn't seem very discerning in what they are looking for. Common sense suggests that this is not reasonable

Review:
I think the website is a waste of time becasue most members do not seem to contact when you email members. Also i would also like to confirm that i came across phony pictures and duplications of some pictures on other people's profiles which scared me. It put me off but then I continued to carry on my search.

I also believe there are people who are not being truthful and should be barred as a muslim matrimonial website is for marriage not for friendship this is why it is a MUSLIM matrimonial website it is not an asian dating site there are loads of these already on the net and if someone wants to be just friends with someone go on dating sites and not matrimonial sites.

While praying to Allah to bless those who created this site abundantly, I wish to express my frustration at how to register with you. I tried to do so, but anytime I ran into some hitches. One, when I thought I had completed the registration form correctly, I would find my sending was not successful. Two, as I am in Nigeria [West Africa], I don't know how to effect payment of the fee. But then I really desire to befriend and marry an American Muslim Lady of between 25 and 40 years. I am a black man, a Muslim and in my early fifties. I am a university graduate with Masters degree in Islamic studies but a practising journalist for 26 years in my home country. Right now I am a media consultant working in the Presidency, at the State House, Capital city, Abuja, Nigeria. I am dark in complexion, of medium height, weight and with some strands of grey hair. I am not fluent in Arabic but English and my mother togue, Hausa. I travelled out of my country only once, to Poland.

If you have any provision for free registration, kindly help me fisabillahi. May Allah continue to be with you in this lofty mission of forging legitimate man-woman relationship. Bissalam.

Pros:
I find the site as the most practical way of encouraging Muslims to embrace marriage and maximally produce children for the pride of the Holy Prophet, Muhammad, (S.A.W). It is capable of strengthening tiers among the muslims and beautify Islam and so make it more appealing to the non-muslims.

Cons:
Some devilish individuals may abuse it by pretending to mean sincere about their search for legitimate partners. May Allah bar such individuals from making in-road into the site and its services. Ameen.
