I've tried joining japancupid. Most of the girls here only looking for caucasian or local japanese. They won't hook up with other asian guys.

Pros:
lots of pretty cute girls

Review:
I joined both JapanCupid and KoreanCupid (same owners) for a while. It is so NOT worth the time or money! First of all, I'm 36 and I may not be 18-20s but I'm not unattractive, desperate or psycho. I joined the sites because I'm planning a trip to Seoul, South Korea and Toyko, Japan for a few months this Fall and thought it best to make some friends first.
I posted my interest on both sites as "Penpals" with both men and women close to my age from those areas with shared common interest. Although I never paid for the JapanCupid site, I did pay for 1 month of KoreanCupid and just as soon as I paid...sudden silence!
On JapanCupid, the only ones that contacted me were..OO..scary! A couple of grandpa's well into their 60s, a few prison parolees types and of course a few over-sexually charged teens (18-19) but few Japanese men and never any even slightly close to a sociable age. I'm a friendly person that is open-minded but grandpa wanted a live-in-nurse/maid (with benefits), the prison parolee cussed me out for refusing to Skype and the teen boy sent me pics (more like a photo album) of his "manhood". oO Yeah, thanks J & K Cupids for rocking my world the wrong way!
I also refused to get "verified" because it was not a trust-worthy method to me and I wouldn't risk Identity Thieft. The decent members seemed to be fake and the ones that weren't were either creepy or nonresponsive. It was equally the same with the females claiming to also be seek friendships.

Pros:
I was always surprised and somewhat entertained by the members that contacted me. I'm sure that the creepers were real.

Cons:
I was on there for over 6 months and I wasted money on a month of "Gold" membership and never met anyone.

The real fact of the situation is unless you are ready to travel to JAPAN, CHINA OR ANY OTHER countries in or around ASIA to meet these BEAUTIFUL ladies, joining these kinds of sites is a waste of YOUR money.

Review:
I have used this site, both as a standard member and a paid member and found it to be OK.
Undoubtedly there are "fake" profiles out there. There are fake profiles on every site that allows people to make a profile without paying. This doesn't meant the site is a scam.
I suspect the unsatisfied users out there are unsatisfied for reasons that aren't really the fault of the site. For example, there are a lot of Japanese women on the site. Japanese women who live in Japan. In the majority of cases, these women are not interested in you if you live overseas. Not because they are racist, not because they wouldn't like you if they met you, but because it's simply too much of a long shot to start corresponding with someone who they can't meet without getting an international plane ticket.
I can assure you all that there are many many women on the site who will happily correspond with someone living in Tokyo, and will happily meet up if they think you might be their type. I know this because I met around 20 women through the site. Some nice, some not so nice, some stunning, some, umm, shall we say not so stunning. A couple of crazies, a couple of gold-diggers and a couple of nasty pieces of work but mostly just pretty normal people, in my age bracket (I was 37) looking for a partner.

Pros:
It's good for meeting women who are in Japan, if you are also in Japan.

Cons:
Use your head - if you're somewhere else then this site is highly unlikely to work for you.
