Review:
I have been a paid member of this site on two seperate occasions. During my last membership period a women who i was communicating with confirmed that she had been approached by the site to encourage men to upgrade their membership. Interestingly although this was approx 12 months ago, this women still has an acitve listing on the site.

Now if fairness to IE, I cant verify this as I never met the women, but i do know her email address, and her current listing so it should be easy to investigate. I also had a mobile number but that stopped working after i left the site..(Pay as go SIM i wonder....)

There appears to be something wrong with this site. Yes there are testimonials on the website but from my experience there is a shortage of genunine women using the site.
I have never met a women from this site, but have done so on other sites with lower fees.

I wonder how many men actually renew their membership, this is data that the IE should be able to supply to either confirm or deny my concerns that this site is about hitting the customer once, and recruiting new customers...

My advice........Avoid

One reviewer has made a complaint to the police about it.

Speeddate.com is a terrible site! I receive several communications a day from users on the site, but it turns out that 90% or more of them are African SCAMMERS! And when I browse members that match my criteria, more than 50% are African or Russian SCAMMERS! When I report them to Speeddate I always get a popup that says how important my communication is, how seriously they take such reports and how they will make every effort to investigate and delete members that violate the Terms of Use. However, even the most OBVIOUS of these fraudulent profiles remain active for weeks or even months after I have reported them. Stay away from Speeddate.com.

Pros:
Good concept for reviewing profiles and contacting people.

Cons:
Users are NOT effectively screened to keep out the SCAMMERS!!! Keeping in mind that people have been KILLED by criminals perpetrating the Nigerian or 419 scam that is prevalent on this site, you use it at your own risk.

Japancupid is certainly a scam. I saw a few profiles I was interested in and paid for a 3 month membership. Most of the time the mail I write is not even read. Got a few formulaic responses. Many of the mails were promises to write in greater length later. Don't waste your time or money on this site.

Pros:

Cons:
Waste of time, money and energy.

I have been on this site for a while now and I must say most of the guys on this site dont seem to know what an arrangement is or supposed to be. They seem to think that endless emails, and dinner pretty much sums it up.

Take note men, your on this site for a reason, live up to it or get off the site. I am a beautiful, intelligent, kind and interesting women. I live up to my end of the deal, now live up to yours.

I do not wish to meet for dinner and have you paw at me. I do not wish for you to invite me out for the night and I clear my scedule for you to be a creep. Pay for dinner, my time and my cab home. Thats why I am on this site. Why are you?

Pros:
Im sure there are some if you find a legit guy ...but I at this point am very doubtful.

Cons:
The men are misleading,

Their intentions are misleading.

and it never really developes into a reall SD type relationship.

Review:
This site is not the most sophisticated on the web, nor the largest - in fact there are not many people in it. But it has better security than any other I've seen. Tells you where the last log in was from for each person, likelihood of a scam (based on a number of factors - eg message has been cut and pasted and sent x times). It also has some very useful hints about how to check - like how to check where an email originated - very useful.

They also have a new IM system which looks like it will be really good but does not seem to work right at present (for me - maybe I got it wrong).

Twice now I have been contacted by a Japanese woman sending me many emails.
I can only read them if I become a member.
When I finaly become a member they do not want to know me.
Obviously stooges .Scam .

I cancelled this site 3 days after I joined .. that was 4 mths ago. Today.. 10/12/09 I noticed that my bank acct. has been getting charged.. even after I cancelled..
The reason for cancelling is the site is confusing.. I sent messages for help.. no reply.. hence my cancellation which I asked for a confirmation..never got it. I went on my way.. and now realize.. I have been paying for 3 mths.. for what reason..
I again..today.. have tryed to e mail, call, message thru the site.. and to no avail..

Please help.. I need to know how to contact these people.. I am contacting the bank today, to get this charge stopped and get my 3 mths. refunded..
